Brandon Jennings 24 Points Full Highlights (3/12/2014)

Will Bynum approached his teammate after practice. “Hey, Brandon, wanna hit the weight room?”

Brandon made a great show of being tired after the intense scrimmage. “Yo, man, I’d love to, but I’m just wiped. Maybe some other time.”

“You can’t go the whole season without lifting, Brandon. Come on, just for a bit,” Will cajoled, hands on hips.

“I lift all the time, I just do it at real late at night,” Brandon replied, looking a little uneasy. Why couldn’t Will just leave him alone?

Will laughed. “I don’t believe that for a second. Come on, we’re going to go add some bulk,” he said, grabbing Brandon’s arm and marching him towards the weight room.

“But I don’t wanna!” Brandon whined.

Soon, they were standing at the bench press. “I’ll spot for you. How much weight you gonna put on there?” Will asked.

“Uh…50.”

“50?” Will scoffed.

Brandon had his excuse ready. “Like I said, man, I’m already tired. I wanna start off easy, you know?” He got the weight on the bar and positioned himself underneath it. However, when it came time to push the bar off the rack, he couldn’t do it. Struggling and grunting, he couldn’t even nudge it an inch.

“Hey, why don’t we try just the bar?” Brandon asked rhetorically, getting up to take the weights off. Will just stood there, eyes wide with amusement.

Brandon laid himself back down on the bench and put his hands up to grab the bar. “I’m just getting warmed up,” he assured his teammate. This time, he successfully lifted the bar, but as soon as he brought it over his chest, it crashed down on top of him.

“Yo, man, get this thing off me! It’s crushing my chest!” Brandon yelled, flailing his legs.

Will was now laughing raucously as he easily lifted the weightless bar off of Brandon’s body. “Tell me honestly, Brandon. Have you ever lifted in your life?”

Massaging his sore chest, Jennings cast his eyes to the floor, knowing that his reputation in the locker room had been forever ruined. He took a deep breath. “No. I have never lifted in my life.”
