The Heat are continuing their strategy of not playing Michael Beasley to save him for the playoffs, letting him play decent minutes only occasionally to make sure he stays hot. At least, I think that’s what they’re doing. It’s hard to tell for sure. It fits in with the “Heat don’t really try during the regular season” narrative that makes the rounds when the Heat start playing like crap.
Beasley didn’t play like crap, however, scoring 16 efficient points, including 12 in the 2nd quarter which wasn’t even garbage time. I’m of the opinion that the Heat should go more to him when Wade is out, which they kind of did tonight. He can score the rock, something which is rare to see in some of those funky lineups they trot out there.
