Brook Lopez 28 Points Full Highlights (1/29/2016)

Quick thought experiment: how many wins would the Nets have if Brook Lopez had re-broken his fragile little feetsies on the opening tip of the first game of the season? This is assuming that they just roll with the opening-day roster and make no attempt to acquire a replacement big. Keep in mind that both Jarrett Jack and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson get injured in this scenario at the prescribed times.

A Nets team with Joe Johnson and Thaddeus Young as their go-to players might win fourteen games over an entire season in a vacuum. However, you have to remember that Andrea Bargnani would all of a sudden be getting a huge amount of minutes at center (because Willie Reed can’t get them). Bargnani has such a detrimental impact on any lineup you put him with that this Lopez-less Nets team would probably be looking at maybe five or six wins.

Let’s hope Lopez’ feet hold up. Or let’s hope the opposite and then pile on the Nets when they get even worse.
