YES. This is what I want. I used to think I wanted Rubio to pass the ball, but it turns out I don’t. No one does. Why would you want to see him try to get his lame-o teammates involved when he could drop 30 points a night instead? There is no possible reason. Scoring Rubio has been unleashed, and there’s no putting the genie back in the bottle.
I might be overreacting, but let me tell you, a couple of those funky short jumpers he made gave me serious Pistol Pete vibes. Like, I know he was compared to him coming into the league, but that was more his passing flair than anything. He doesn’t do the fancy passing as much as he used to, but that scoring, hot damn. Do me a favor and go watch that vid of Pistol scoring 68 or whatever, and then rewatch this one, and tell me that it’s not just as good. Just as good but half as long.
