If the Memphis Grizzlies had won this game and had Dillon Brooks been the reason for that win, I would’ve been majorly peeved. Peeved to the greatest extent. Brooks is a good rookie, nice all-around player, but if he had been the preeminent factor in a win over Milwaukee, well, that would suck because he’s not that kind of player. Variance is cool when it happens to other teams. Against the Bucks, I want people to perform to their career norms or preferably way below them.
Luckily for me, the Grizzlies sorta gave up near the end of the game (seriously they weren’t down by that much but they didn’t even try) and Brooks’ 19 points were rendered meaningless. I can make the highlights without anger, in fact with a certain degree of appreciation. Because those threes that he made were super wet. And that poster dunk on Henson was nice, even though it didn’t result in him chasing Henson back to the locker room. A certain former Grizzly would’ve done that for sure.
