Showing replays of fouls that aren’t made shots is generally a waste of time for everybody involved. It’s a waste of time for you, it’s a waste of time for me, and it’s a waste of time for my kitty Japurri Purrker when he’s waiting for me to finish making highlight videos so I can play with his feather wand. However, exceptions can and must be made, especially when the foul in question is Kyle Kuzma attempting to mega-pack it right on Joel Embiid’s vacantly grinning face (0:34).
We have entered the “no hyperbole zone”, and my hyperbole-free statement is this: that would have been the dunk of the year had it gone through the rim. The 24 points scored in this video take a backseat to this devastating dunk attempt. Now that I know about Kuzma’s propensity for possible poster parties, I’ll be waiting for him to throw down a real poster in the near future. Dunking on the guy who eventually dropped 46 would have been cool, but it would still be acceptable to me if The Jakuzzi dunked on like Cole Aldrich or something. Then, you could say something like “Aldrich just took a dip in the Jakuzzi”. It would be sort of forced and contrived, but that’s part of what makes nicknames cool, right?
