I’ve been spoiled. After a recent NBA altercation where an actual punch was thrown, this skirmish between Jusuf Nurkic and Victor Oladipo seemed kind of weak. No one got ejected, all that happened was that Nurkic said some words while getting in Oladipo’s face and then Oladipo pushed him away. Lame. I prefer my sports to be modern-day gladiatorial events minus the lions and plus a whole bunch of concessions that would be totally unimaginable to the ancient Romans.
Their minds would be so blown by nacho cheese.
I don’t understand why Nurkic was being so confrontational, but I guess that’s his deal. He plays with “heart”, and sometimes that means talking maybe a little too much trash. It also means that he’s the one who gets to hype up the crowd after something cool happens. Better him than someone like Jason Terry (stop telling the crowd to get loud when you can’t even get on the court you geriatric nursing-home resident). At least Nurkic is good.
