Okay, my heart rate has returned to normal, and I can feel all of my left arm and like 75 percent of my right one. I think it was this Jerami Grant video that did it; he had a good game, but was it EXCITING? Not at all. My hype from this game began diminishing about halfway though the first clip of this one.
I’m still trying to figure out why the heck the Thunder traded away Ersan Ilyasova (who can still be a good stretch-four, sometimes) for this dude. Is it because he has lots of defensive intensity? I can see that. Ilyasova’s main method of playing D is taking charges; Grant tries to block every shot that comes anywhere near him, with mixed results (that was a costly goaltend with 30 seconds left but I think the shot was going in anyway). But on offense, all he can do is dunk it. The jumper that he sort of had in Philly and also sort of had last year with the Thunder still sometimes makes an appearance, there’s even one in this vid, but he’s not really a credible threat from anywhere outside the paint.
This is best scoring game of the season, if anyone is wondering. He acted as a nice sponge for Westbrook assists.
