Nikola Jokic’s triple-double streak has ended. He had a good chance to continue it, but he only picked up one assist in the fourth quarter. It’s easy to blame his teammates for the lack of generated assists, but I’m not going there. Jokic himself would never blame his fellow Nuggets. Instead, I’m going to blame the referees. And the scorekeepers. Maybe the fans too. If they had cheered louder, I bet Jokic would’ve gotten more assists.
Jokic deserves some of the blame, true, but it’s such a minuscule portion that it’s not worth talking about.
In all seriousness, the Nuggets were surprisingly close in this game given the amount of calls James Harden was getting. It’s probably too late by this point, but if there is a backlash against the fouls he draws, it could start with this game. I was getting agitated, and I didn’t even have a horse or a cart in the horse-cart race.
