Myles Turner averages 20 points per game against the Mavericks, the most versus any team in the NBA. Before you act all impressed, I didn’t come up with that stat. For once, one of those usually-lame factoids that the television people bring up was somewhat interesting to me.
So why is this? Why does Turner hate the Dallas Mavericks more than any other team, why does he channel that hate into endless buckets versus our blue-clad Texas heroes? Tonight was a Nowitzki-esque showcase of fadeaways and triples, but why?
-He’s mad that the Mavericks haven’t acquired him yet, since he desires nothing more than to play for his home-town team alongside the German that he grew up idolizing, and he wants to show that they’re making a mistake by not trading for him by getting lots and lots of buckets.
I was gonna make a whole list of reasons, but I think that one right there is the only one that needs to be mentioned.
