J.J. Redick keeps bailing out the 76ers with crazy threes. This is not sustainable. Obviously, because even with his and-one three with 5 seconds left in overtime Philly managed to lose by giving up an easy and-one on the other end to Blake Griffin.
Note: Blake Griffin is not yet enough of a scrub for me to do the highlights of him scoring 50. Come back next year; I’m sure he’ll be toast by then.
Back to Redick. I think he’s a top-20 scorer in the NBA currently which, again, is not sustainable and Philly needs to figure out something else for their clutch offensive production before he comes crashing back down to reality. Joel Embiid is not the answer, if you’re thinking he is. He’s 0-for-somehugenumber on some cherry-picked selection of crunch-time shots. And Ben Simmons can’t shoot… Markelle Fultz? Nah.
Okay so maybe Redick has to be their go-to guy at the end of games. That’s fine. He’s a vet, he can handle it.
