Jabari Parker 20 Points Full Highlights (11/7/2018)

I’m obsessed with the idea of win-shares. They’re my favorite “advanced” stat. I have no idea how they work, what they’re supposed to be measuring, or what makes them better than other stats. I like them because I can see them easily on basketball-reference, the only NBA stats site that I can use without wanting to chuck my computer out the window. They usually match up with the eye test pretty well.

This year, there are only a few players worse in that category than Jabari Parker. Which is an observation that agrees with the eye test. He hasn’t been good. He can score a bit, but not efficiently, and he’s turning it over all the time while doing it, and then add in his non-defense and you get some pretty gnarly numbers. I’m sure his on-off splits are horrible too.

He can still get buckets, though. 20 points per game is something that I thought was attainable for him coming into the year, and it could still happen. As long as the Bulls are fully committed to the tank and don’t mind how much he’s tanking their winning chances.
