Montrezl Harrell 26 Points Full HIghlights (1/14/2019)

Montrezl “Mon-Trezzle” “Monsterezl” “Mississzugz” Harrell has been beasting it up so hard this season that I didn’t realize that this was his second-highest scoring game this season until I went and looked it up. It seems like he scores 25+ every third game due to the ease with which he scorse and the inability of any defender to prevent him from scoring, but that’s not really the case.

This game also marks a season-high in attempted field goals for Harrell, with 16. That surprises me as well. I understand that these high-efficiency center types aren’t going to be volume scorers, but Harrell’s slightly more skilled than the Clint Capelas and Rudy Goberts of the world. He could take more shots than he does, maybe force the issue a bit more than he does, and I don’t think anybody would really have a problem with it. Even if his field goal percentage dips, it’s still a better idea to have him force shots if the alternative is to watch Avery Bradley brick some more bricks in a bricky manner.

What would also help Harrell get a few more shots up is if he got to play with Milos Teodosic for a full 36 minutes per game. Just start Teodosic and Harrell and forget about Gortat and Gilgeous-Alexander. This team needs to be constructed to a.) get Harrell 20 PPG; b.) get Harris 20 PPG; and c.) get Boban 10 PPG. Teodosic playing more minutes helps achieve all that.
