Dirk Nowitzki 14 Points Full Highlights (1/30/2019)

It took a long time, a really long time, almost two whole decades worth of time, but Dirk Nowitzki is finally slowing down. Last year he looked like he could go for a few more seasons, he wasn’t amazing or anything (unless you consider his age), but he was still good. Now, I feel like every time he steps on the court could be his last. One tweaked ankle would probably have him explode in a poof of muscle fibers, dust, cobwebs, and bone shards.

He’s not getting the same farewell tour (BARF) that Kobe got, but people are aware that he’s just about done. He’s getting mammoth cheers every time he makes a shot in a foreign arena, almost as loud as the ones he’s getting in Dallas. There’s not a fanbase on Earth (or Mars) that holds any ill will towards him (not even the Heat I don’t think), everyone loves him, and no one really wants to see him go.

But he’s bad now. He kills the Mavericks most of the time he’s on the court, because he pretty much can’t play defense at all (because he can barely move) and his shot isn’t falling. If he wasn’t the face of the franchise, the guy who will get a statue the second he retires, he wouldn’t be sniffing the court.

Not like I’m complaining. And, hey, 14 points isn’t so bad. This may actually be the last time he does enough to get a highlight video from me, but I’m not going to say my goodbyes just yet. I’ll wait until the end-of-season Nowitzki bucketilation to do that.
