Justin Jackson 18 Points Full Highlights (3/6/2019)

When Justin Jackson got traded from the Kings to the Mavs as part of the earth-shattering Harrison Barnes trade, I’m sure there was a subset of Mavs fans who thought some or all of the following things:

-“The Mavs are getting a good young shooting guard to strengthen the bench”
-“Justin Jackson could be a starter as soon as next year – good pickup!”
-“This guy was good in college but the Kings weren’t the right situation for him.”
-“I see 3&D potential in Jackson. He’s the next Khris Middleton but cheaper. Cubes is a genius!”

Meanwhile, Kings fans were likely to be thinking some or all of the following things:

-“I can’t believe we tricked another team into taking that bum Jackson.”
-“Mavs fans are deluded if they think this guy will ever learn how to be aggressive and shoot.”
-“No more pity minutes for Jackson, thank god!”
-“Now Bogdanovic can finally develop without that passive loser taking his minutes while doing absolutely nothing except bricking threes.”

This is what DTB was thinking about Jackson’s move to the Mavs:

-“Now people will watch my Justin Jackson videos”

That is literally the only thing I think about when marginal players like this get traded. I don’t know enough about every team’s situation to say for sure how a new player will fit in with a new team, but I do know that fans of the new team will flock to my highlight videos for the player so they can pretend to be knowledgeable about him. That is one thing that never changes with trades.
