Serge Ibaka 23 Points/5 Threes Full Highlights (4/3/2019)

I am growing concerned that people seemingly care more about Serge Ibaka the YouTube celebrity chef than Serge Ibaka the NBA basketball player. I say “seemingly”, but the YouTube view counts don’t lie: he’s easily pulling in hundreds of thousands of views for his cooking stuff, while the best non-fight highlights of his, by the biggest highlight channels (not me), only have tens of thousands at absolute most. Of course, his fight videos have tons of views, because people secretly want to watch boxing but are afraid to admit to their parents that they are Russian.

Come on people. Ibaka is, first and foremost, a player for the Raptors with a pretty sweet jumper. That should be what people care about most when it comes to him, with his shirtless photoshoot coming in second place. His cooking ability, who cares about that? NBA players aren’t meant to be cooks. They pay people to do that for them, and if they don’t, they eat Popeye’s for every meal. That’s the way the world is, and that’s the way the world should stay.

Ibaka neither cooks nor punches in this video, so who cares, right? Even if he went 5-of-5 from deep, if he’s not sauteing some bullcrap or trying to connect a haymaker with Marequese Chriss’ face, I won’t be able to get people to watch this. Should I put “/8 Broccolis Delicately Microwaved” in the title? Would that help?
