It appears that I’m going to have to make 82 highlight videos for Kendrick “Nunn Of Your Business” Nunn during the regular season. That’s fine by me, as long as he mostly keeps the assists at unshowable levels (once the total gets to 5 I usually show them, so if he just stays below that we should be good). I can deal with 82 games of him getting lots of buckets. What I can’t deal with is 82 games of him getting lots of buckets while also getting tons of assists. I’m still traumatized from all those Trae Young vids last year that were, like, five minutes long just because of all the stuff he was doing.
Early indications are that there is literally nothing that will stop Nunn from shooting. While digging around looking for replays for some of these buckets, I actually found footage of him recording official field goal attempts while sitting on the bench and not checked in to the game. That’s how willing to shoot this guy is; he doesn’t even need to be playing to do it. Believe me or don’t. I know what I saw with my eyes.
I’m wondering how long Spoelstra is going to let Nunn just chuck wildly whenever he’s in the game, he seems like the kind of coach who wouldn’t have much patience for that kind of stuff, but since leaving him on the bench doesn’t actually stop him from shooting/scoring, I don’t know what he can do. He could tell Nunn not to come to games, but that wouldn’t stop him from getting up some floaters from the stands.
