Fred VanVleet 21 Points/11 Assists Full Highlights (12/1/2019)

Once Kyle Lowry comes back, which I assume has to happen at some point, I would suggest that Nick Nurse give Fred VanVleet a nice amount of games off. He only played 32 minutes tonight, probably a season-low for him (I’m too lazy to check [okay I checked and it’s only the fifth-lowest, but he hasn’t had any games under 30 minutes]), but it seems like he’s playing 40-plus every game. Even for a young player, that’s tough. Maybe a couple decades ago that would’ve worked, but in this modern NBA where player movement is the norm (and thus player movement on defense is mandatory) and the pace is through the roof, that’s a lot of minutes.

I also have determined additional rest days for VanVleet throughout the rest of the season. Those days are: February 25th, April 1st, and April 3rd. No particular reason for choosing those days, I just think those would be good days for him to get a little extra rest and allow Terence Davis to be the main backup PG person.

It doesn’t look like I get to make another vid for any of the Raptors players this game (I have high standards for Terence Davis now that he’s a confirmed stuf), so if I’m going to talk about how ridiculous it was for them to be up by 40 against the Jazz (who are supposedly title contenders) at halftime, it’s gotta be now. So… it was ridiculous that they were up 40 against the Jazz at halftime. Last time I checked, they don’t even have Kawhi Leonard anymore, they’re just a team full of role-players with a role-player-ultra-super-deluxe in Pascal Siakam. How is this happening? I’ve previously believed that coaching doesn’t make a huge difference in the NBA, but I’m being forced to reconsider that position. Forcefully, by the balding head and intense state of Nick Nurse.
