CHRIS CLEMONS SHOT DISTRIBUTION WATCH UPDATE: 62 THREES, 15 TWOS
THIS CONCLUDES THE CHRIS CLEMONS SHOT DISTRIBUTION WATCH UPDATE
STAY TUNED FOR MORE UPDATES ON THE STATUS OF CHRIS CLEMONS’ SHOT DISTRIBUTION
Clemons was a little bit more extreme than usual in his shot selection tonight; he attempted 11 threes, and only 1 two (which you get to see, he basically had no choice but to lay it up). The presence of such a player in the NBA makes me happy. He knows what side of the bread his butter is on: the three-point shooting side. He knows that if he goes inside the arc, weird things might happen (like him getting blocked on account of being a midget by NBA standards). Outside the arc, he controls his destiny. He can shoot it, or he can not shoot it. Most often, he chooses to shoot it.
If he was given the same leeway that James Harden is to score, man, I don’t even want to imagine the kind of shooting performances we’d see. Note that I didn’t say “scoring”, just “shooting”. The amount of points might not be so great, but the amount of shots attempted might be insane. He could shoot 30 triples in a game without even trying, I bet.
