Joe “The Trevally From Happy Valley” Ingles, sadly, hasn’t been jingling at nearly the level we’ve come to expect this season. In years past, we could expect multiple jinglings each and every game. Now? We’re happy to just see him jingle a couple times per week at most.
All is not lost, however. Ingles is kind of old now, 32 times has the earth revolved fully around the sun since he was brought into this world, and older players need some time to get going after the offseason. I suspect that he just needed some time to round into form, because he’s been doing a lot better recently, bringing his three-point percentage up, getting more assists, and helping the Jazz win a bunch of games. He’s still not the jingle-master that we saw for much of the past two seasons; after a few seasons in the top 5 of three-point shooters, he’s middle-of-the-pack this year.
Last game, he had a season-high 4 threes, which is fine, but kind of a pathetic number of threes for it to be a season-high. This game, he had 7, a way more acceptable number for a season-high in triples. He didn’t do much besides hit those threes, but just the fact that we got a taste once again of prime Ingles is great to see. I definitely saw him talking some smack to Tyler Herro, who totally deserves it, because that guy has a douchey face if I’ve ever seen one.
Also, a friendly reminder to Australian viewers that your country’s constitution mandates that you watch at least one (1) Ingles highlight video per day. The fact that you’re reading this reminder is a good sign, because it means you’ve met the quota, but don’t let yourself lapse into the habit of not watching Ingles highlights. I’ve had to call the police on several of my subscribers, and from what I hear, they’re not having a fun time in prison right now.
