Kevin Huerter 22 Points/6 Threes Full Highlights (1/6/2020)

I’m just going to go ahead and declare this the fourth consecutive win for the Hawks. Sure, in their last four games, they’ve only “won” (according to the arcane and outmoded regulations of the NBA) two of those games, but the other two should be wins. Not just moral victories. Straight-up wins. And I will make them wins. Because losing by only three to the Celtics while being one of the worst teams in the league is a win. And because only losing by single-digits to a good Nuggets team featuring an unfair scoring performance of 47 points by Nikola Jokic is also a win. Add in the real wins against the Magic and the Pacers, and you get four. Four nice wins in a row.

In those four wins, Kevin Huerter has scored 19, 17, 26, and now 22 points. Not to mention a healthy amount of rebounds and assists (not in this game though). Trae Young is the offensive engine that allows the team to function, but Huerter is seemingly stepping in to be the number two option. Many pre-season observers assumed that would be John Collins, but the steroid withdrawal seems to be taking its toll with him a little bit.

But Huerter is natty (as in natural, not as in sharply dressed, though he can be that too). He doesn’t need steroids, and will never suffer steroid withdrawawl because of that. Look at that physique. That’s pure hard work and devotion to the lifting lifestyle, baby. Mike Bibby better watch out, because there’s a new ultra-swole game in town, and this one is still balling in the NBA and not sexually assaulting people.
