Jarrett Culver 24 Points Full Highlights (1/7/2020)

Not shown in this video: Jarrett Culver attempting a wide open potential game-tying three with 40 seconds left and doinking it off the back iron. The way I’m phrasing it makes it seem like some sort of horrible gaffe that would be perpetrated only by a complete bust, but missing open threes is fine. And everyone knows that the more wide open you are, the less likely it is that the shot goes in. It’s just science. And Culver was WIDE open. Science indicates that that shot had about a 2 percent chance of going in if it was shot by Stephen Curry, dropping town to a minuscule percent of a percent when shot by Culver.

Shown in this video: the 24 points he did score by putting the ball in the hole, the most points he’s ever had in the NBA and more points than I’ve scored in my entire NBA career (which isn’t over yet, have you seen a retirement announcement from me, I thought not) by far.

Culver approximating something that a 6th overall pick with a scoring pedigree would look like is a great sign for him. He might have all the intangibles in the world or whatever, but what the Timberwolves need him to do is score like they thought he would when they drafted him. They didn’t draft him to have intangibles. Everyone has intangibles. Not everyone can go out there and get buckets without too much effort.
