Norman Powell 27 Points/6 Threes Full Highlights (1/20/2020)

In the past there has been a concept of “Playoff Powell” – an idealized version of Norman Powell who only shows up in the Playoffs to kick the rear ends of not just the Bucks, but other teams as well.

Well, as of right now, we are DISCARDING the concept of Playoff Powell. Playoff Powell no longer exists. The reason why I’m discarding that concept? Because Playoff Powell isn’t just in the Playoffs anymore. Playoff Powell is All-The-Time Powell.

This is the fifth game in a row where Powell has scored twenty points, and, if you hadn’t noticed, it’s not the playoffs yet. It’s not even close to playoff time. Either somebody tricked Powell into thinking that the playoffs are going on right now and he’s playing a bunch of one-game series against random teams from both conferences, or this is the way Powell plays in the regular season now. I’m going with the latter.

I’m not usually the guy who dwells on “confidence”, since I believe that every NBA player has an excess of confidence (as they should – they’re the ones in the NBA after all), but Powell’s confidence has to be off the charts right now. He’s scoring effortlessly in many different ways against all kinds of defenders. It’s like a snowball rolling down a hill collecting more snow until it turns into a gigantic SNOW-BOULDER that runs over livestock and crushes entire villages. That’s what Powell is right now. Except instead of crushing villages, he’s crushing the hopes and dreams of all opposing teams.
