Christian Wood 21 Points Full Highlights (2/5/2020)

This game and the one before it were the first games of the season where Christan Wood got over thirty minutes of on-court action. His stats weren’t as utterly outrageous as I would have hoped for (17/5/1 last game, 21/8/1 this game), but it does bolster my newly-formed hypothesis that if you emphasized Wood in the offense and played him thirty MPG per game, he would be a better scorer than Drummond, and it wouldn’t be close.

Actually, this isn’t even a hypothesis, because hypotheses are, by rule, untested. This hypothesis was tested last year in New Orleans and found to be 100% completely and fully accurate. When you play Wood hella minutes and make him the number one or the number two option, he dominates. If you don’t believe me, I will kindly direct you to the highlight videos of him that I made last season. He made Anthony Davis look like a fragile bitch.

Can you believe that the Pistons almost added old man Joe Johnson to the roster instead of this guy? Like, how was that even a question? The fact that it was a question at all is just another strike against the Pistons’ front office who apparently are also looking at trading Luke Kennard.

I get it. Luke’s hairline is a bit depressing. But come on! Him and Wood are like the future of the Pistons and I’m not even joking. You think I’m joking, come over here and I’ll show you how much I’m joking. I’ve got a banner hung up in my living room that says “CHRISTIAN WOOD AND LUKE KENNARD ARE THE PISTONS’ FUTURE” in big letters.
