Emmanuel Mudiay 18 Points Full Highlights (2/21/2020)

Remember when I prematurely declared Emmanuel Mudiay’s career to be over, and also declared him to be a massive bust, after his third season in the league where he put up some truly uninspiring numbers with the Nuggets and Knicks? I don’t remember making such declarations, but I probably did. Declaring things like that definitely seems like something I would have been doing more often back then (when I wasn’t blatantly pandering to my readers like I do now). China jokes were most likely made, except they weren’t jokes. They were more like predictions.

Now I’m looking like a fool (probably) because Mudiay seems to be playing relatively well in a small but not insignificant role for one of the better teams in the West right now. His career is definitely not over. He might still be a bust, but he also might not be a bust. If he’s going to go play in China, it’s probably not going to be next season. Things are looking up for him when it comes to being a long-term role-player in this league.

Then again, if all he gets is 20-MPG roles off the bench for a couple years, he might decide of his own volition to go to China and dominate their domestic league like countless other failed NBA scorers have done. The pay’s not as good, but he’d have way more fans, and by then there will probably be a lot of cheap housing because the coronavirus has decimated their population.

Maybe he wouldn’t have more fans.
