Is there any player in the NBA who is quicker to shoot threes than Carlos Delfino? Ryan Anderson might be up there, but when it comes to fearlessly launching from the long line, Delfino is unmatched.
But there was a time when it was doubtful that Delfino would ever play again: after getting his head stepped on by Josh Smith while on the Bucks, he was taken off the court on a stretcher and for weeks afterward, he spent all his time in a dark room with nothing to occupy him. Nothing but the dark thoughts pressing in on his mind: “Will I ever get to play with my daughter like a normal dad? Will I ever shoot a three again? Will I ever give another unintelligible halftime interview to a befuddled interviewer? Am I going to have to wear a helmet just to take part in routine day-to-day activities? Will my banging hot wife leave me for somebody who is able to endure brightly-lit areas for more than a few seconds at a time?”
Good news Carlos, your neck is okay, you can live like a normal person, and your wife still loves you (or at least loves your money)! Never take anything for granted! Go out there and shoot every three like it’s your last!
