Kenyon Martin sucks. One of my enduring memories of him is when he went 3 for 23 in an elimination game against the Spurs in the 2003 (an entire decade ago holy balls) playoffs. Most of those misses were horrible long jumpers. That’s the peril of having someone who can’t really shoot as your go-to player.
But now he’s been reduced to garbageman duty, after spending a good portion of the season looking for a team. He’s actually performed his role well, which is surprising because I thought he didn’t have anything left. He still occasionally takes a horrible jumper, but those times occur infrequently since no one on the Knicks can wrest the ball from Carmelo’s hands.
