Free will is an illusion. How can we possibly have the ability to make choices when we live in a totally deterministic universe? The world we live in is bound totally by the laws of physics, laws which are currently being codified. It is not unreasonable to think that, in the future, we will able to predict all events with certainty.
With that being the case, I’m afraid I cannot give any praise to Paul Millsap hitting 7 threes tonight. Impressive as it may have been, his actions were not his own. But it was certainly fun to watch, if you were lucky enough for the universe to decide that you got to watch it.
This game will probably mark the start of a period where Millsap takes a bunch of threes. My guess is that he’ll hit about 20 percent of them, and then go back to his old ways of hardly ever shooting them. This is for the best. Not every player in the league needs to shoot threes.
