Kyrie Irving is gone. No amount of wishing will bring him back. It’s time to move forward without him. It will be difficult, but we have strength.
We also have Matthew Dellavedova who, while not as flashy as the recently-deceased Kyrie, is always giving it 100 percent. Some of his teammates could take a few lessons from him on effort. But they would be ill-advised to take lessons from him on other aspects of the basketball experience, like being able to dunk in-game. I’m sure he can do it; everyone in the NBA can dunk except Luke Ridnour. It’s just a matter of getting a good opportunity.
Speaking of good opportunities, Delly has a great one now. The backup PG spot is his. All he has to do is beat out Jarrett Jack for the starter spot. That might be a tall task considering Jack is probably legit starter quality, but that’s nothing a couple of well-placed crowbar blows to the knee by a hitman couldn’t take care of.
