Here’s a rule that I came up with: if a player shoots below 40% over the course of a full season in the modern NBA, even if it’s just once in a career, they can no longer be considered a “good” player. No matter what their accomplishments are in other areas of the game, they at most can be “average” or “flawed” players.
Sorry Randy. As a guy who has shot below 40% over the last three seasons, not even counting this current season, you just aren’t any good. Dial back the long two-point attempts and you may redeem yourself a little bit, but be aware: you are permanently among the company of other not-good players such as Brandon Jennings, Ricky Rubio, Byron Mullens, and John Salmons.
However, I am in no way insinuating that Randy Foye is as bad as Byron Mullens. Such a thing is simply not possible.
