In talking with my psychiatrist and psychologist friends, of which I have many, there seems to be agreement that Brandon Jennings is 100% stark raving insane. He routinely says things that have no basis in reality. I’m paraphrasing these quotes, but the sentiments behind them have legitimately taken hold in Jennings’ addled brain.
“Detroit is going to be Lob City.”
“I can be a true point guard in Detroit because I have guys to pass it to.”
“In Milwaukee all I did was score.” (this one is true, but while in Milwaukee he repeatedly stated how he was trying to be a pass-first guy, which makes him either a liar or a lunatic)
“I deserve a max contract.”
“Josh Smith and I will work well together.”
“Monta Ellis and I will work well together.”
“I was once punched by The Game and suffered a detached eyeball, so it’s okay that I suck at basketball.” (he never said this, but I would bet $5 that he thinks it)
If Brandon is reading this, I just want him to know that there is help available. You don’t need to suffer in dementia. There are people to help you work through your problems. Just because you are not of sound mind does not mean that you need to live in world completely separate from reality.
