The tide has turned for Anthony Bennett. He was the butt of many an internet joke. People gloried in his failures. People made merriment out of his rotundity. But no longer!
Now, instead of jabs and insults, there is encouragement and kind comments about how much fitter he looks. People no longer want to see him do badly; his recent spate of decent play has people optimistic about his future. He’s still not a very good player, but maybe not the WOAT anymore. Is this shifting of opinion a sign that humanity, by its very nature, desires happiness and postivity over hate and anger? Are we as a species moving on from petty tribalistic disputes and striding boldly into a new era of love and prosperity, steadfast in appreciation for our fellow man?
Nah.
