Perhaps Amar’e Stoudemire isn’t as done as we all thought. Maybe he just needs to start and be given the confidence to play his game. Because he looked pretty good tonight, on offense at least. He even had a nice drive and dunk that was reminiscent of his Phoenix days. Except for, you know, the unparalleled power and explosiveness.
I’m sure Knicks fans are desperate for some positivity this season, and Stoudemire not being the worst contract in the league could be that positivity. Who cares if he doesn’t play defense? He didn’t play defense before his injuries. Just give them a few dunks a game and they’ll be satisfied. Actually as long as he doesn’t get arrested for having a survivalist bunker in his house like Raymond Felton they’ll be happy. They’re not the most discerning fans in the world. After all, they support the Knicks. (The irony of a guy named DownToBuck saying such a thing is not lost on me.)
