Ray Allen 22 Points/5 Threes Full Highlights (3/14/2014)

Prior to tonight’s game, Ray Allen was shooting almost exactly 40% from three on his career. Just a sliver over. If he had made 1/5 of a three less and it would be perfect. And with the volume of those shots that he’s taken over his career, that kind of efficiency is pretty amazing. Stephen Curry might surpass him in the future, but for now Ray Allen is without question the best three-point shooter of all time.

But his overall contributions on the Heat has been pretty small, despite his status as a Hall-of-Famer (discounting that sick three that saved them from losing the finals). He’s basically a role player at this point, standing around on the perimeter and picking his spots for the most part. I know that he’s super old now, but I would like to see him take a more active role in the offense. Bring back some memories of his glory days with the Bucks and Sonics.
