I saw a quote from Anthony Davis that said something to the effect of “I like playing with Anthony Morrow because he’s such a good shooter”.
When your franchise centerpiece wants to play with a player, you keep that player. The Pelicans better get ready to shell out some cash to keep Anthony Morrow around. He definitely deserves more than the paltry sum he’s making this year, and he’s almost certain to opt out of his contract next year. I don’t know what the going rate for really good shooting role-players is, but I’m thinking the max.
His recent good play could be another one of those things they call a “contract year push”, but he’s been such a good shooter that it’s unlikely that he’ll regress too much. A lineup of Holiday-Evans-Morrow-Anderson-Davis would be too sick. TOO SICK.
