Just forget about all the falderal surrounding Shabazz Muhammad in his high school days. It will only negatively color your perception of his play. Instead, think of him as some relatively obscure foreign player who had enough upside to be drafted in the middle of the first round. Suddenly, things seem brighter for the Shabazztard! This performance is no longer a sad tale to the dangers of AAU-ball, but of the increasing prominence of foreign players in the league.
Actually that first one is more accurate. Did anyone realize at all that this guy’s skills weren’t really translatable to the NBA level? There is still hope; he was hyped for a reason. 13 points is pretty good, but its harder when you aren’t a year older than every other player you go against.
