There are a lot of things going on in Israel right now (other than basketball). I’m pretty sure that’s where rival highlight maker Dawk Ins lives, so he keeps the place busy. Palestinians, as always, are a point of contention, as is Israel’s right to statehood. The are arguments from both sides on whether Israel even has the right to that land to begin with. On one hand, why should their religious claim over Jerusalem be less valid than mine? I mean, alien-gods visited me six years ago and told me I could have it. That’s just as valid as having a god tell you it was yours a few thousand years ago. On the other, the United Nations decided that the Jewish people needed a state to call their own, and we can’t just take it away from them. If the United Nations gave me a country, I wouldn’t let other people have it no matter how bad they wanted it.
However, we’re not here to discuss politics! Last time I did that, I made all the Turkish people mad, and for that I am sorry. DownToBuck is bros with every nationality except Canadians. The Israel problem is not mine to solve, and I hope it does get resolved with everybody’s dignity and happiness intact. Those are two basic human rights that we all get regardless of skin color, belief, or Pop Tart preference (S’mores all the way).
Back to basketball! After a few years fooling around with other teams, Omri Casspi has returned to the franchise that was his first lover, the Sacramento Kings. I’m sure both parties hoped that he would turn around his career there. The jury’s still out, but Casspi is getting fewer minutes than he did with Houston, so maybe things aren’t going quite as expected. To lend him back some of his confidence, cut Rudy Gay’s minutes down to nothing and give Casspi all the SF minutes he can handle.
