Rudy Gobert was still fairly unknown in his rookie year, a vague tale emanating from the mountains of a giant who did not yet possess many basketball skills.
His appearance with the French national team must have helped him loads, because he’s come back this year as a far better player. He can sometimes catch passes in the pick-and-roll now, and he can also pass the ball himself sometimes. His finishing and shot-blocking are more confident as well.
It was just a matter of time before people started noticing this guy. He has taken votes away from Giannis Antetokounmpo for the “Most Potential in the League” award for good reason: he is a beast. A beast who can’t shoot from outside the paint, but a beast nonetheless.
