It looks like it would be lots of fun to be a fan of Stephen Curry. Lots of fun. Splashing deep threes, splashing deeper threes, making everyone into his bitch, winning MVP’s, seeing all that unfold as a fan would be super satsifying. It almost makes me wish that I wasn’t a fan of only roleplayers.
Enter C.J. McCollum. He’s still a roleplayer, if you stretch the definition of the term a little bit. That means I can be a fan of him, and he does lots of stuff similar to Curry on the court! Sure, the threes aren’t quite as ballsy, but some of them are close. The ball-handling, well, is not that close, but I’m more of a buckets kind of guy. 20 ppg isn’t too far off from 30, so I estimate that I’m getting 66% of the enjoyment out of C.J. that I would out of Curry. More if you consider the fact that he was not supposed to be doing this well.
Pretty good for a roleplayer!
