Josh Smith has been pretty bad since coming back to Houston, I mean, he was bad before as well, but now he is on a team that expects his badness so it’s not so bad in the end. Or something. I should really rewrite that sentence. Whatever.
Yeah, anyone anticipating that he would magically become old-Josh was fooling themselves. He is shooting, somehow, even worse than he did with the Clippers. But this is what he is now and what he has been for a while; a big dude who loves to shoot threes but can’t really make them. We have to accept and live with this reality.
I can relate to the whole chucking bombs thing. I LOVE shooting threes during pickup games, I love shooting them off the dribble, hand in my face, fading, I don’t even care. It’s fun! Sometimes they go in, and those times serve as fuel for the endless bricks. I’m sure that’s how Josh feels during games. He’s made them a million times in practice, why not RIGHT NOW? There is no reason, so let it fly, and feel neither regret nor shame no matter what those douchers on the internet have to say about it.
