If you ever want some extra proof that Hassan Whiteside isn’t the greatest defender, just watch this vid. Holy DAMN. Andrew Nicholson (to repeat: ANDREW NICHOLSON) absolutely abused him repeatedly. REPEATEDLY. MORE THAN ONCE. How many times can you do a pump fake and have it still work? Apparently, as many times as you want, because Whiteside is going to jump at every single one.
This isn’t even a good player we’re talking about. It’s Andrew Nicholson, and he’s actually okay on offense if he gets his chance, but it’s not like the abuse was happening at the hands of, you know, someone who plays well consistently.
These highlights likely aren’t going to get the attention they deserve. That’s probably a good thing, because if I were Whiteside and I discovered this vid, I’d probably put a copyright claim on it just so people wouldn’t see me biting on pump fakes over and over while being painted in the worst light imaginable.
