With each consecutive primo performance, Dario Saric’s chances of winning the ROY award go higher and higher. He is scoring consistently in the 20-ish range now, and his assist numbers remain impressive even though he has no one to pass it to. Yes, I’m aware that that’s a horrible argument. I don’t care. Saric wrung a bunch of dimes out of Nik Stauskas and Richaun Homes, a feat which should not go unnoticed. He did not dish any to Justin Harper, though, which probably would’ve lead me to upload a bonus video titled “Dario Saric 1 Assist To Justin Harper (Who Is Not Sofoklis Schortsanitis) Full Highlights (3/4/2017)”.
With his ROY award looking wrapped up, it’s time for him to move onto other goals. MVP is probably out of reach unless he really picks up his scoring, but I can’t imagine that DPOY is out of the question yet. Who else is even in contention? In this season of insane scoring and efficiency, I can’t think of any outstanding defenders around the NBA. Might as well give the award to Saric, because whenever I watch him playing defense, he is definitely at least trying to not give up wide open layups. How many other players can you say that about?
