Yogi Ferrell probably isn’t a starter in this league, but it’s nice to see him play well and secure his spot in the league after being undrafted. At this point, he’s a better player than Dennis Smith Jr., so while DSJ deals with whatever injury it is that he has (it better have been dunk-induced), Yogi gets the start, because why would you ever start the midget J.J. Barea AKA the third-best player on the team? Yogi might be a midget at an even six foot but Barea’s gotta be 5’10” at best, and that’s on a good day.
The Mavericks should have won this one, but the Spurs scored the last thirteen points of the game to lose by two. Was it Yogi’s fault? I didn’t watch the game, so I don’t know and probably shouldn’t be making assumptions, but his small stature does make it easier than normal to score on him. He also failed to attempt a shot in the last five minutes of the game when he had been shooting pretty well. So, yeah, let’s just say it’s Yogi’s fault. Yogi cost his team the victory in this one.
