It took a while for Donovan Mitchell to get going in this one, but once his did, it was over for the Pelicans. 25 points in the last 15 minutes of the game, wow, typed out like that it doesn’t seem that impressive. Oops. Watch the video. It will be impressive. I promise.
So impressive that it will win him ROY? Nope. Even I have jumped off that train. It sucks, but the narrative for Ben Simmons will be impossible to overcome. All Mitchell can do now is hope that Simmons dies in a freak kanagroo-fighting accident or something, because the voters will not be swayed even if he scores 30 every game while leading the Jazz to the fifth seed.
Also I hope you’re ready for this year’s Mitchell dunkilation because it’s gonna be sick. Not going to spoil it for you, but he dunked it a bunch of times this year and I bet he’s gonna dunk it a few more times before the buzzer sounds for the regular season.
