I don’t play sports video games much anymore, but I am well aware of the concept of “cheesing”. It’s when you do the same move/play/ability over and over because of how over-powered it is, instead of actually playing the game like a normal human being (implying it isn’t normal to want to find flaws in systems and abuse them). My only personal example is from NBA Live 2004, where I would double the opposing PG with TJ Ford around half court, strip the ball, and get an easy layup every time. Wilt’s record in shambles.
Oh yeah, and I ran fake field goals in Madden 2000 every play with moderate success. It was a first down like a third of the time. Fake punts weren’t as good.
Anyway, I’m bringing this up because Pascal Siakam is straight-up spamming the spin move button right now. Spin-move cheese, as some people would say. I counted 5 spin moves in this video that led to points on the board for the Raptors, plus another where he got fouled before he could get fully into it. He was doing a couple per game previously, but this is unprecedented. Who says the league is heading towards jacking threes endlessly? If it were up to him, everyone would be spin-moving all the way down the court.
