Ryan Arcidiacono: the American Steve Nash? The fact that I’m even typing it out like this means the answer is obviously yes. You could reverse the concept and say Steve Nash was the Canadian Ryan Arcidiacono, but that doesn’t seem as correct, somehow. Which is weird, because the sentence has all the same parts and all I did was rearrange them a little bit.
He’s the American Steve Nash minus the constant pick-and-roll spam. And the seasoning. Remember, it took Nash a while to really blossom into the Hall Of Fame point guard that we all cherish and love. Arcidiacono is barely in his second year in the league, and his first was so light on minutes that it might as well not have existed. So he’s basically a rookie still. Just like Ben Simmons last year.
In honor of his career-high 22 points tonight, I present to you his new, update nickname: ArchGOAT. This nickname is comprised of two elements. Element one is “Arch” which his nickname already. Element two is “GOAT” which is an acronym for “Greatest Of All Time”, a title which he is very much in the running form. Any resemblances of this nickname to certain Finnish black metal bands is purely coincidental.
Also, sorry for including that last clip. It was a nice play even if it didn’t work out in the end. I hope you guys didn’t get too excited, but there was a lot of evidence for him not making the shot. Like the commentator saying that he had 22 points (which is the amount indicated) and then the clip playing. Or the fact that I didn’t include “/1 Game-Winner” in the video title. Really, you had no one to blame but yourself for getting hyped.
