There are a lot of…things…going on in Brazil right now. Maybe good things. Maybe bad things. Definitely some things that are causing political strife both internally and externally. In these times of division, what better cause for the Brazilian populace to rally around than the continued NBA successes of their countryman Bruno Caboclo, who has perpetually been “two years away” UNTIL NOW?
If there is one thing that can spur Brazilians to set aside their differences and unite as one, it’s the “Brazilian KD” who’s been more like the “Brazilian Quincy Miller” or the “Brazilian Derrick Jones Jr.” during his sporadic time in the NBA. Now that he’s actually getting consistent minutes on a real NBA team (not a fake G-League team), the time is ripe for the Brazilian media to seize on this and sweep all that ugly political stuff under the rug. Because that’s how you deal with pervasive cronyism, corruption, and voter distrust: stuff it under the rug while idolizing sports heros.
If the Brazilians turn out not to be able to support Bruno in the way that they should, I officially nominate Poland as a surrogate motherland. Polish people have shown that they can throw their support behind scrubs like Olek Czyz and Trozmasazs Kordieywlsiwzczksyzy, so they would have no problem showing nationalistic fervor towards Bruno Caboclycz. If that sounds like a threat, that’s because it is.
