Apparently the refs did some things at the end of this game that some people don’t agree with. Also, various members of both the Wolves and the Warriors were screwing up/screwing around during the overtime period, resulting in a game that was almost too chaotic to be enjoyable. I could sit down and watch the entire overtime period to make an informed pronouncement about what happened, but the time it would take to do that is time I don’t have. Or, it is time I have, but it’s not time I care to spend on that particular pursuit. I would rather make baseless speculations and get everybody riled up at me for being ignorant.
I will say that a lot of drama could have been avoided if Josh Okogie had made his final free throw to make it a two-possession instead of a one-possession game. But he didn’t, and then things happened, and then people were butthurt, and I’m just sitting here smugly aloof pretending I don’t care about refereeing errors because I am above such petty concerns.
Okogie did a lot of good things in this game to cement his “Okobie” nickname. Missed free throws notwithstanding, he hit a lot more three-pointers than one would expect out of a sub-30% three-point shooter, and he showed off some smart cutting ability with his dunks. The commentator threw some shade at him by praising his “willingness to take shots” (meaning “willingness to ignore his own shooting percentages when choosing which shots to attempt”), but, for once, Okogie’s confidence was well-placed. So good for him, I guess.
