Fred VanVleet 25 Points/9 Assists Full Highlights (11/23/2019)

Recently I think I insinuated that I didn’t want Kyle Lowry to come back and that I wanted Fred VanVleet to continue playing heavy minutes forever. That definitely seems like an opinion I would hold, but I write so much garbage in these video descriptions, often without actually thinking about the words that I’m typing, that I have no idea what my opinions are anymore. Somebody with a lot of time on their hands could probably find a hundred instances of me contradicting my own clearly-stated opinions within days of their original proclamation.

So, if I ever said that about Lowry, I take it back. I want Lowry to come back as soon as possible so he can ease the burden that is currently breaking my back. VanVleet is good and all, the problem is, he’s too good. When you give him forty MPG per game or whatever he’s playing on account of him being the Raptors’ best PG option by far, he puts up way too many stats way too consistently. He’s not even shooting 40% from the field, but he takes enough shots for it to not matter. And that means I’m sitting here making a video for him, like, every game, and I’m diluting my own market for my own highlight videos by flooding YouTube with this stuff.

I went and looked up Lowry’s injury to see if it was serious and it’s just a fractured thumb. That doesn’t seem like a big deal. You don’t use your thumb to shoot or pass really. I mean, you do use it to keep the ball in your hand, but your thumb doesn’t need to move. It can be immobilized and you could still be effective. So I see no reason why Lowry can’t come back right now and put VanVleet’s minutes situation back to a normal level.
