Is there a way I can look up all the two-way contracts that were given out to players this season? Preferably, this theoretical source of two-way contract information would be so user-friendly that all I would have to do is shout at my empty apartment “I WANT TO KNOW ALL THE TWO WAY PLAYERS” and then the information would show up on my computer screen without me having to do any hard work like typing URL’s, clicking, or performing cognition at higher than a cro-magnon level.
The reason I want to know this information is because Jeremiah Martin has had some decent games that far eclipse the production you would expect to get out of a two-way player. I’m not privy to the insights of the front offices that are using the two-way mechanism to develop players, but it seems to be a system where you get high-level G-league guys and give them 5 MPG from the end of the bench and then send them back to the G-League for sucking. Martin could very well have had the best statistical output of any two-wayer with his 24 points and 6 assists, but I don’t know that for a fact and I don’t have an easy way to find out.
This statistical query could easily be solved by basketball-reference’s new Stathead service (which is the same as their old set of querying tools except it costs money [which I have now paid (using Patreonbux [give me more Patreonbux plz])]), but I don’t think Stathead includes “contract type” as a searchable criterion. If they added that feature I wouldn’t not only be able to figure out the best individual scoring performances from two-wayers this season, but I also would be able to figure out which ten-dayers scored 100 points in a single game. I bet it’s a lot.
